OMGosh! it's been more than a year since my last post.. hehehehhehh :)

So i have another 20 odd days left before we ORD! it's been one hack of a year. OCS-CSC/SOM, COCC, CTC and AIOC, ATEC with 3COy, going to become the NS OC and finally finishing up our combat training. soon it's be back to the books with sin and cosin waves!

now... should i stay in the far far away hostel with demn nice rooms? or should i stay in the older block but is next to the eng blocks at NUS? hmmmmm wonder wonder wonder...

this morning I went to East Coast Park! with my parents to go inline skating : ) i'm proud to say that they CAN skate OKAY! hahaha

It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO crowded as expected on a PH..

After skating we went to bedok jetty at the end of east coast park to go fishing!fishing for the clouds! : P
many many many pple also fishing..

Imagine this; A local university offers you a place in one of thier courses which only takes in 80-100 students. On top of that, they awarded you with thier bond-free, all-tuition-fees-paid Scholarship. And you turn it down! Well - NTU offered me a place in their Aerospace Engineering Course WITH a Nanyang Scholarship. BUT I think i'm about to do just that.. >_<

I decided that NUS was more of the place for me. (It's in my zone! : ) ) so anyway, even though NUS has not confirmed any scholarship with me for their Mechanical Engineering Course, (which will be announced at the end of May 08), NTU's deadline for the acceptance is TOMORROW the 6Th of May and I just don't think I'll be able respond to it without regretting.

Crazy? I am, maybe, but we'll just leave it to God to decided if NUS is going to come back to me with something.

upon further investigation, i found out that my mom had taken it from our own store room as a spatula for gardening .. whew.. and i thought i had developed the curse of the purple ice scream stick!

YIPEE! i passed my flying test! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! : )

Well it was a strange feeling.. bitter sweet but awesome!

i made a 3183 word debrief for my instructor and juniors (i got caried away) : ) anyway here's the super long abstract of the flight:

First and fore most, BE EARLY!!! Try to be there before 0750 am. Settle down, relax and be calm.

I came at 0807 and had to change, get the POH from the aircraft, and gather the techlog and weather and Notams. HO CK was pissed that I was late when I knocked on his door at 0822. : opps. Be sure to knock on his door before 0815 am.

Ok down to the test. There are three parts to the test. The first being the preparation portion, the second being the test flight and the third being the oral quiz on the various systems and random questions.

Part 1: The Preparation Brief

The day before the test, I came down to plot the items affecting the flight on one of the debrief room maps. For the Notams, there are two sections that affect you which are PLAB and the SBAB/SELETAR sections. Make sure that the items are valid at the time of flight and that the location of the item stated is around the region of flight. On the Notam, you can write by the side whether it is a “Crane” or “Bird” advisory or any other item. That way you can easily sieve out any particular category if he does not want to hear about it.

The brief was carried out in the ‘RT oral quiz room’. Unfortunately, I forgot to grab a copy of the CG form and the weather report that came in this morning was not valid! It was valid till 0600 hrs only. The first thing he asked for is my SPL, my log book and my test form. After he inspected those three, he asked to see my spare specs which I showed him. Next he briefed me that the test would be in three sections as what I am describing now. One thing to note for that is that for PFL, you decide which marker but for Glide, he will decide. You can also decide if you want to go circuits or area first and which area you want and how you want to get there. Also, you have to say out the check title and say out the target speed on finals. Eg, if you say 65 kts, you can have +5, -0 which would make the limits 65 to 70 kts.

I started out with the weather and realized straight away that it was not valid. Tough, I told him I’ll check it out later and then I went on about notams. I stated that I plotted the obstructions on the board if he should like to see it and then started with the SBAB/SEL section. I started on about the cranes and then he told me to tell him anything BUT cranes. So that shortened my list to just a handful of stuff such as bird advisories and that the I/D beacon on (either SBAB or SEL sorry I didn’t know which : ) was U/S which means unserviceable.

Next was the Techlog. I later came to realize that that was my second mistake. I briefed him on the Certificates located at the front; they were Signed, Chopped and dated and then showed him the day’s page and said the first check has been done, the page signed and chopped and I asked him if he would like to sign it there or later. He asked me if I accept the aircraft and I said yes. So he signed it. Next I did the CG form. (after running to get one) I cleverly took note of the weight and arms and moments the day before from the table located at the Ops room. BUT I also came to know that that was another mistake…… When I opened the POH to show him where the number came from, I realized the one stated on the ops table was different from the one that I copied. Actually the updated weight, arm and moment were on the next page of the POH. It has been updated and I cleverly did not turn one more page. Moral of the story, DO THE CG first. AND CHECK the POH itself. Go to the aircraft a few flights before the FHT to familiarize yourself with the POH. AND then do the tech log after the CG and ask him to sign it because only after you have done the CG, would you be able to accept the aircraft.

While running out to get the CG form after going through the techlog, I checked with aunty about the weather report. So smart, the Mat station didn’t do the current one yet. So I checked the sky. All clear : ) so I went back in, did the CG, got confused about the POH arms and told him the one on the table is more up to date according to OM (the updated one in the POH was just one page behind!) and after the CG and POH was done, I told him the weather was not in yet BUT I told him that I checked the sky and all was clear with clouds above 10000ft. (there was only cirrus clouds).

Then he asked me which runway in use? I said 21. He asked how I know, I said the colour state board said so. I also told him the colour states which was SBAB Y1, SEL VMC, PLAB Blue. Then I told him, ‘which means that SBAB would be our primary diversion”. He gave me that look that I came to later realize meant, “What in the world are you talking about?!” (Background info: usually we see SBAB and PLAB as Y1. unfortunately I was late and a bit kanchong so I mistook Blue colour state as being worse that Y1. It is actually better! Since I though Blue was worse that Y1, I stated that the primary diversion should be SBAB and not the usual PLAB. Stupid!)

Then he asked, “What’s the wind condition?” I said don’t know and I’ll go check. So I ran/walked out and checked the windsock, it was under 5 kts (drooping) and direction generally 210 deg. I told him that and he asked so can fly or not? I said yes we can. Okay he said, See you ops in 2 mins.

Went to ops room, double checked auth sheet and rams filled, then he showed me the colour state chart and he ask, “Do you know what blue means or not?” I saw the thing and said sorry was mistaken and PLAB should in fact be our primary. He shaked his head and we walked out.

I took my time to wear my gloves and vest before the police post. Then we walked out to the aircraft, 9V-BOH (which so happened to be my first flight and first solo plane. Must thank the flight room aunty : p).

Approaching the aircraft, I called out ‘Sir, initial checks’ then did the checks. Got in, did checks as per FRC and came out. Called out external checks and carried on, blah blah. The only exciting thing he asked was, “What’s this thing here?” stunned, I examined the strange looking silver cup located lower left of the spinner. It was obviously something inside the engine and realized, oh! Its part of the starter motor housing! He said ok. Carried on and then did cockpit safety checks. Remember fuel drain and all that! I didn’t use the dip stick to check fuel because the tanks were full so I just opened the caps and visually saw that the fuel was to the brim. No comments given about that.

Start up and everything ok. Your call sign will be ‘C’ ‘A’ ‘A’ ‘oscar’ ‘hotel’. Take note when preparing. When testing brakes, make sure you tell him “you have control.” And let him response before removing your feet. (I heard that from some senior PPL guy who got scolded.) That went okay. Just before the end of yankee, near W3, he asked what speed should you be taxiing? I said walking speed. He said and then? Opps, I was going too fast. Make sure, slow! Really really walking pace.

Before calling ground, I told/asked him that ‘we’ll be doing circuits first’ he said okay. Then I relayed to ground the normal calls and such. Runway in use: 21.

Ok next thing to note, he likes to test you by changing his mind. Like VABTO checks, I asked him if we were going to do normal t/o, he said yes. Then after the checks were done, while straightening the a/c, he said we wanted short field. Okay, I said. Then I pulled 2 stages of flaps and called switching to tower. Waited for 92 to do a touch and go and then called tower CAA-OH ready. Told him to help close the door and lined up, did my line up checks and took off after clearance.

Circuits:

1. After take off checks, flaps up, I noted, and unfortunately he also noted, that I was 65 kts and not 60 kts during the initial climb out. No harm down. Requested PFL, that was denied and so we called normal circuit instead and then he called efato at around 600 ft. I did the actions and pulled 25 flaps to descend steeper for the orchid golf course fairway near the satellite dishes. He terminated it and he requested low level. So I changed it to low level. I already had 25 flaps so I left it and went to 500 ft, ½ normal spacing. Called downwind low for stop and go and did downwind checks. Lined up, pulled 40 flaps, and called final and said target speed 55 kts. On 200 ft, he called go around! So I went around with flaps to 25 immediately, did go around checks and then next we requested PFL.

2. The PFL was ok. We had to orbit twice due to OE on upwind and some other a/c. No probs, commenced everything as per normal. Did the engine failure checks and down wind checks, declared I wanted first marker and landed slightly past the first marker.

3. Next, after take off checks, I asked him which circuit he wanted. So he said normal. Okay. Waited till 500 ft to turn and JUST before 500 ft he said “I want flapless.” So I made I quick call, ‘flapless’ and turned to cross wind. Landing was okay.

4. Low level came next, for stop and go. As per the first circuit, it was within limits. On downwind, I stated that I would like my aim point to be first marker. If not he would take it as threshold. It’s just my preference. Slightly fast initially but brought it down to 57 kts or so. Landed before the second marker and braked!!!! But apparently not hard enough so he was prompting, ‘More brakes, more brakes.’ Stopped within limits and did a normal takeoff. Remember to put power before touching flaps.

5. Next was a glide. Requested and granted. On crosswind, he said we will depart after this glide circuit and asked where I wanted to go. I said Bravo via overhead. So on the downwind high call, I also added that I would like to depart to area bravo via overhead. Then he said he wanted 2nd marker and that was fine. After take off I requested the status of the departure and departed. I did my ‘filer’ checks during the climb at about 1300ft and reset the timer. After that I called passing 2500 and switched to 123.4 for PL approach. Something was wrong with the primary frequency. (Random statement: there was Arabic being transmitted by two random aircraft on 123.4 and PL app chased them away. Hahahahahah)

Area work:

I wanted to climb to bravo, 5000 ft and while climbing, I did the look out weaves and engine checks. Called established at 4000 ft and did HASSEL checks at 4600ft. leveled off at 5000, did a lookout turn and did clean stall. Take note to check for yaw and recover at the same reference point or hdg given.

Stall 1500rpm, 25 degrees flaps, SSR
Stall 1500 rpm, 40 deg flaps, incipient stall recovery. Just lower nose for S&L. don’t need to lower nose for descend. Don’t have to lose height!

Steep turns left and right. Continuous turns, mainting approx 90 kts.

Next he said IF and I passed over controls so I could put on my IF goggs. Noticed time was 14 mins and I said I wanted to do my filer checks and he passed me controls and then when I was finished with that, he asked, ‘Don’t you want to call?’ and I called ops normal. He took over again for UA. Did a nose high with bank, low nose with bank and once more a nose high with bank except that the last one did not require any change in throttle setting. Then flew S & L, some rate one turns and climbs etc. Basic IF. No cool stuff like 500ft/min climb and rate one turn 180 deg where you would have to level off and roll out at the same time.

After that settled down in area, look around and he asked where we were after taking off the IF goggs. I said over seletar approaching the boundary and he handed me control and I turned around. We then proceeded with slow speed handling. Clean with no flaps, 65 kts and after a while, 60 kts with 10 deg flaps. Turn only when required and if there is no need to, he may ask you to turn. Show him rate one turns and turn to the hdg he wants. Remember, visual flying!

After terminating the Slow speed, we did engine rough running emergency. So I ranted out the checks and prepared for the PFL pattern. He asked me anything else that we can do? I said that’s all that was stated in the FRC. He said should take it out if there is height and time available. Then terminated the emergency and told me that we’ll do a normal rejoin.

I did the FIE checks and called PL App for recovery. Had to wait for 15 mins for the in bound and out bound to come and go. In the mean time I waited at 4000 ft, flying in rectangles around the airfield. Sometimes he wanted me to turn only when he said so so I flowed that instruction and advised him when the boundary was approaching. Generally flying in the 030,120,210 and 300 directions. Had to do another FILER check after 15 mins (He nicely asked when was the last time I changed tank?) and then got clearance to rejoin 2500 ft for rw 21 soon after. Switched from PL APP to Sel tower.

Established contact with tower and descended overhead the airfield. Remember clear engine and lookout weave. I called overhead 2500ft when I got there and got cleared to descend and I replied leaving 2500 for dw rw 21. Unfortunately, I did not do a normal rejoin for a very long time and could not see the opposite threshold and turned too late. I was high at about 1500 ft and he questioned my pattern. Opps.. But got back to downwind 800 ft for a normal fullstop. Landed within limits and called for W3. I was told by tower to continue to yankee on tower freq which I did. Do take note of the wind conditions because he asked me on final. Once you’re cleared for yankee, go straight to the clearing engine holding point. Did after landing checks, asked him to open the door and called tower we were taxying back yankee and then released park brakes and activated toe brakes and cleared my engine and then he did engine fire on ground. So throttle close, mixture cut off, fuel pump……. And then we returned to yankee.

Again, I was taxying at a jog pace and not a walking pace. I was directed to parking bay 12. But along the portion of taxiway, I had to pass OL which at the engine run up bay and had to navigate between that aircraft and the parking shed pillar and eventually got into the bay. Slow down before the white line so that you do not have to jam brake to stop on the white line. Be smooth. I overshot the white line a little bit. Anyway, did the engine shut down checks and he told me we’ll meet at the briefing room in 5 mins.

Part 3: The Debrief

I waited in the room for him to come back and he started with:
1. Tell me about the engine?
2. Will we reach ICAO standards?
3. What is the standard?
4. Is Singapore that standard?
5. How does that affect T/O performance?
6. What can we do to improve the takeoff performance? (take off into wind, with a downhill runway gradient, short field take off or decrease load by draining fuel)
7. Electrical system?
8. Why is the alternator 14 V and battery 12 V?
9. If the master switch was turned off in flight, will the engine still run?
10. Tell me about your license privileges?
11. Can you fly at night and what is considered night?
12. How to get a night rating?
13. What must you do in order to maintain the license?
14. How long is it valid for and what is it based on?
15. Can you fly cross country?
16. What is considered cross country?

I think that’s about it. Anyway, make sure you prepare for systems properly! Look and sound confident of what you are saying. He will ask more if you look lost. Anyway, good luck for your test! Prepare early! The answers to all the questions except Q 6 is available in my FHT quiz guide.

Mistakes Made:
Not on time
Did the techlog and got him to sign it before I even did the CG
CG in the POH was old one. Did not check next page.
Colour states info mistaken. Blue is the best! Don’t ask don’t say.
Taxy too fast.
Not going straight to yankee holding point after landing.

Things to note:
Call out and check yourself. Eg, 60 kts climb for S/F. I called out but did not manage to do it
Efato, if too high, aim for the golf couse parallel to the r/w further away. Don’t force it down. Usually we’ll start at 500 ft but this time started at 600 ft.
Practice what you preach! Eg, the rejoin pattern, I said can turn after passing the opposite threshold but we already passed it and I didn’t turn cause I could not see it and also we were high. He said I could have pulled flaps to descend faster if needed. So long as its within the aircraft limits.

yayness! ITP is over! so like on Friday i went gym, Saturday morning had flex flight, Saturday evening had a FYP group outing (which we had at orchard... ate chicken rice for like four bucks at fareast plaza, and had like 10 dollars of desert at coffee club.. : ) muddy mud pies!!! wooooo)..

then Sunday morning had a huge huge breakfast with my parents at tiong barhu, and had flight in the afternoon (which has cut short due to lightning) and then i went gym again.. whew..
i think that's the most I've done on a single weekend..

YAY! i'm so so so so happy.

this morning i drove to seletar airport, then drove to changi airport and then i drove to paya lebar airport. i love driving hahahahaha..

actually i'm happy because i'm not so stressed anymore. i had to go to syfc to get my test form and then to caas changi to pass it up and check my extension status. whew... it's extended!! demn heng. else i'm doomed.

so now i can wait till attachment ends before i continue flying.. it's been so stressful waiting for the status of the extension to be known.. well at least thats that now..

yay! today i flew my 42nd sortie. it as an area solo today. so basically i floew 0.8 hr with my instrutor and 0.8 on my own after i landed and dropped him off. it was quite exciting to be alone in a different environment for the first time. though it was quite cloudy, it was relaxing and and it took all that itp stress away for that one over hour. : )

4 weeks to go before itp ends! finally. we're more than half done. mean time, gtg study for aircraft ratings. bye peeps

this morning i had my final day of ivp swimming competition.. i swam a 30.12 for my fifty fly... YAY the guys came in overall top and the girls third.. overall we were second behind NUS.. well done!!!

after that i rushed down to moberly to study maths and app1..

then then we went to the national stadium for SOCCER!!!!!! woot! so exciting!!!!!!! wait wait.. at the car park, i saw the chio-est celica EVER!!!! look at that.. so demn sexy lor.. mmmmm.. i like....
ok ok back to soccer.. this was the pitch at six thirty or so.. after that it bacame jam packed!!

(which was what i asked for hehhehheh). thanks! hey robyn if you're reading this, tag it <---- after that we went to mug at the comp lab instead... some did pro e and some did amp.. man exam stressssssssss.. after that i went vivo with my mom and bro. TADA!! oh wait wrong one.. hahahah but thats me and chris at amp during welding..

school rocks!

yes yes i know you're thinking i'm going to go all nerdy talk again.. hahah not this time. anyway, today was probably the most fun i had in school.. well...

the first thing was during aircraft power plants practical. it was a rather interesting lesson today. we learnt abt fire warning, prop feathering and flying on the simulator of the cessna 172 in our aero lab.. it was actually a demo by our teacher on how the aircraft flys and how the instruments work.. haha he knew i was a student pilot at syfc and he asked me to fly! wah scary sia. firstly its a different plane and secondly, THE ENTIRE class was standing around me. wah so pai say if fly like a noob.. heng it was at seletar aerodome cause i knew the layout.. hahahha the funnier thing was when i was flying on finals, my friend still can say "eh land us safely hor" meaning as though they were all in the imaginary plane too. thankfully i landed without any mishaps and we all survived! lol

after that, we played street soccer cause we ended early. now my jeans has attitude cause its got a tear in the left knee portion from a knee drop save i did while saving my friend's shot. luckily i saved it else i'd have been very upset for tearing my jeans for nothing..

after that i went swimming in preperation of this sat's swimming ivp! omg how to swim?!?!?! hope i make it. wahahaha..

after that, i met the rest and we went to mug@moberly. yes the moberly block has all its room named ____@moberly. like meet@moberly and relief@moberly.. hahahha so queer. but kinda cool tooo.. i spent three hours memorizing understanding weather. cant wait till thats over on monday.. anyway, must study!!! bye all!

well i've not been updating for a while.. kinda busy. BUT heres a summary of whats on..firstly, i was hit by another car last fri! well i was in my car anyway when that happened. it was at the T junction of seletar country club. bleagh.. that feller was turning right and i was going straight.. so he (according to him) looked right and didnt bother to see his left which was where i was coming from.. so his left front bumper hit my right back wheel. my rear wheels drifted for a second or so but i managed to pull left and stick on the road. wah piang.. i got out of the car and shouted at the other guy.. hahahah i think i scared him... luckily nothing much happened except that my right rear wheel hub got scratched.. he immediately offered to pay and settle it without going to the insurerance company... sheesh.. what a scare.

oh i finished my final ground school paper for flying! hope i pass... if i do, i wornt have to go back on Saturdays to study for caas papers.. anyway, hope i can finish my flying in time...

this sat, i'll be swimming 100 fly for school IVP competition!!!! OMG never train.. die die die.. wish me good luck.

well anyway, i cant wait for the 19th day of this month and year, for it will be 19 years that i've been here : )

today being the second day of the new year, the usual swim gang of simon, ash, ally, bryan, josh andrewC and I went for a new years gathering of sorts. we ate at the fish and co at park mall!omg i being so silly, ordered the coriander dory fish. Coriander is the herb thing which i don't like!! but luckily pan-frying it took most of the herb taste away.. besides that the sides were good.. i think most of us wanted the sword fish collar but it appears to be a seasonal thing. bleag.. what a waste. the rest had the best fish and chips cept for ac and josh who had black peper sting ray..

since the movies are so freakin ex now, we went to play lan! woot. at one point we when we were playing cs, the 7 of us went head on against 16 bots.. we were partially being owned.. then we decided to stick together and wohw! could you see the diff. none of us died for a few rounds straight on dust 2. then there was the knive round.. hahah all of us bought tactical shields and wanted to form a circle but that didnt exactly work and the bots stole the shields.. lol..

man that was reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly a good break from work.. whew. see you guys around!

I finally flew my 31st sortie yesterday! After twenty eight days. OMG. Rather stiff on the plane.. My dual flight with my instructor was fine but my first landing for the solo portion was OMG! It was so embarrassing I almost cried. I bounced 3 times on that landing! That's utterly unacceptable....

but there was a consolation. My final landing was nice-ish and soft. whew... hope my flight this thurs will be better..

maybe what estee says is true. the new year will bring new things.. sighhh... this was an ultra long month man.. i've not touched a plane for 26 days.. later i'll be flying (hopefully it doesn't rain- thus the new blog song)

anyway. lets see. whats happened the past three weeks?

well, last friday i sat for the CAAS met paper.. hope i do ok.. results today or tmrw i think. i also wacthed flyboys! with the syfc dudes.. the dog fights were like WOW!

on sunday i went for the christman swim at apsc @ FP.. they did 108 x 80m (short course pool) which is almost 10k! hahah i did 80% of it and i swam much slower then them.. hhhahhaha..

on tuesday the 26th, uncle siong asked me to cover coach jin's training session cause she wanted to go on leave. woot! how fun! i trained the swimmers that i used to train with. that was really interesting.. good job guys.. you trained well!

lets see. still got to do aircraft power plants and understanding weather.. sighhh... next year had better be better.. happy new year!

wohoo! this morning i woke up, had breakfast at home, had lunch in malacca and then had dinner at home again.. wait wait wait.. how? WE FLEW THERE! =) hahahah at 0900 hours, two bright cheery yellow pipers took off from seletar for a nav trip to malacca.. heng, jackson and me together with instructor tan sk were in one plane while Lim Q j, lam wx together with instructors liew mh and sim ck were in another.. since there were three students in my plane, jackson took the front seat on the way there. heres heng and i looking like lil kids at the back..

the trip there was rather hot.. but then it started raining..

gosh you cant even see out the window! but of course, we have nav instruments to get us there. but it was nonetheless scary to fly through... anyway, after getting there, we had paranakan food! it was wow good... we had a lil shopping and then finished up at tan lee hock.. EVERYONE goes there when they go malacca.. hahaha..

anyway the return trip from there was even more exciting! wah piang.. hahah first thing we had to decide on was who was going to sit infront for the return leg.. jackson already had his turn so it was only btwn me and heng.. we decided on a scissors, paper, stone contest where the winner sits infront.. wah it was so close. we had 4 same throws of rock rock rock scissors and then i threw a paper, heng threw a rock. yes! i won! hahahah
i got to sit infront and i flew formation a lil bit.. this pic above is from lam which shows me in the front right seat flying to the side of them : ) man i tell you it takes ALOT of concentration to fly formation. my job was bacically to look at them and fly a constant distance from their aircraft. which meant alot of changes in power and heading... wah say it was tough.. it was also rather strange to fly on the right instead of the usual left during training.

it was a nice sight seing trip and we saw Mountains and meandering rivers from the air..

wow if only every week we got to do this = )

one thing i learnt from this trip besides nav was space.. or the lack of what singapore has.. so singaporeans, DONT DONT DONT ever pollute the lil bit of land that we have.. we're a green country so make it stay that way..

Mass Swim!

wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! i'm kan tired! my arms are dropping! today jackson organised a mass swim in sp to promote swimming! hahaha.. he being my classmate, i went to support the event. there were three parts to the event. first was a 50 free and a 50 breastroke race.. wahahahha. i cant believe i did a 27 for my 50 free. heheheheheh.. i won first : ) my breastroke was slow as usual and i didnt win anything there. no suprise really.. next up was the mass swim.. you can take part in the 20 lap or the unlimited laps in a hour mass swim competition. i took the unlimited and swam 71 laps in that one hour! hahahahahah i cant believe that either.. but now my arms and legs are gonna rebel against me for pushing then too hard.. they seem to be leaving me right now.. js sdhcbelksa.. see? i didnt want to type that but my fingers just did it.....

anyway.. i somehow swam the most no of laps and i won a 50 dollar royal sporting house voucher! wohoo!..

with every ten laps you swim, it gives you one more lucky draw chance. ahahah i got one consolation prize and i also won the third prize! a box of 50 tupperware boxes! haahahah i gave both to my mom though. she's very happy now. hahahahhaha..

so so so tired.. i dont think i'll be able to get out of bed tmrw. hahhahhah.. ok ZZzZZzzzzzzzzzzZZZz.. good night peeeps.

The sky train takes you places..

well actually it takes you to only two places.. But we took it abt four times! heres how it happened : P..

yesterday ally, Andrew, ash, Tim tay, Bryan, Simon, josh and I met at the airport to send Bryan Tay off on his trip to DOHA! he'll be representing team Singapore in swimming! If there was an xbox competition, using feet only, he'd sure win but that's beside the point. Anyway first up was FOOD!

we met at T2 for the first "leg" of our adventurous outing.. theres Simon and the rest of them but you cant see them because of my camera.. sigh.. cant seem to take proper dim light pictures. anyway, we decided to eat at swensens at T2 but OMG there was a 30 person Q outside the restaurant. So someone said there WAS one at T1 so we took the first of our many train rides to T1.

theres ally and ash(paul 2 hill hair) on the sky train. Seriously, they should get the rest of the rails of the skytrain done soon. its not much of a sky train if you cant see the sky..

when we got to T1 after 1 min, we went on our wayin search of food. but *dum dum DUMMM!* there was NO swensens at T1! as you can see below.. : D

so we walked around T1 for food but found no where to suit the occasion. back we were on our way by sky train to T2.. we finally settled for fish and co cause it had the best food around..

after the long wait, it was already nine twenty or so and we had been walking around alot! we were cold, wet and hungry. ok maybe not wet but definitely hungry. Some of you might know that the swordfish collar they have is the biggest ass dish around and could easily feed an army. Well maybe not but anyway, 5 of us wanted it but they were out! in the end, we all had the "best fish and chips in town" and a big ass "big fish drink" i think that was what it was called.. look at the size of the canister!

it was huge! what you see are two "??????"freezes.. thats not the forest freeze in the picture. i cant rmb what it was called.. : / but anyway.. look at that!! it out stands the fork! we had 6 of those btw. 3 forests and 3 of that in the pic..

and heres us at the middle of the entire fish and co; making alot of noise as usual : )

darn.. i should have blogged this yesterday.. i had such a long day today, so much so that i'm nearly forgetting what happened..

ahhh heres ally and b.t sharing a 'special moment' together. hahahlol... actually i could not finish my drink and i got some help. : D

anyway. after dinner, we took the skytrain yet again to send Bryan Tay off at T1.. boy was it crowded. hahah there were team Singapore officials there and they gave out flags and such.. i think we were the noisiest bunch among everyone.. sheesh. if that isnt support, i dont know what is.. : P..

today was a sad and happy day. i finished this weeks tests and i passed my aircraft ratings and i flew my 28th sortie! the sortie was literally full of ups and downs. too high or too low approaches.. oh well. but on my final landing it was the best i ever had. there wasn't even a thud against the tarmac. wohoo! it was the wind that died down at the end that helped. hahahah..

today i saw george! hahaha along the AYE i THINK. cause there was a convoy of white mercs on the opposite traffic. most prob him la. hahahaha. thank goodness theres no more tests this week. but have to start prep for next thurs and fridays's tests.

OMG! every 5 steps you take there will always be a store owner coming up to pester you! why cant they just let us choose what we wanna eat instead of throwing sea food menus at you.. sheesh.. anyway we (simon, bryan, joshua, andrewC and me) had 60 satays and 16 chicken wings to go with what ever we had as our main.. i think it was a mix of fried prawn mee, chicken rice and fried kue tiao.

after that we (except josh) went over to bryan's house to play TOPSPIN! on his X box.. wah that was demn fun man.. oi bryan tay. teach me to play with my toes next time. whahahaha. *shakes head* still cant imagine..

today was the most eventful day that anyone could have ever imagined.. well lets see, (the last bit is the real deal.. read on!)

this morning i woke up early to go fly my new remote control plane at jurong.. whew. that went ok.. hahah it came back in one piece.. i need to go get another battery pack else the flight time will be shorter than the driving time to get there.. i met a few real real pilots there too. it was rather informative.

in the later part of the morning, i was to meet tim at kallang McD to study APP1 and guess what? the whole bloody block had closed down.. what a waste.. so i went to study on my own and then i had lunch with my relatives, (though i didnt eat much)..

today i met 3 different groups of classic singaporeans. the first one was the helpful aunty.. i asked if she knew where the new Mc D was and she said she didnt know cause it closed down rather recently. then out of no where after i started walking, she appeared and told me that her friend said that the new Mc D has not opened yet and that it wouldn't be for a while.. what amazed me was how in the world did she follow me?! most of you would know that i walk too fast.. hahahhaa.. second of all, how did she get all that info in such a short time? she was alone when i asked her.. so yes, thats the helpful aunty for you thank you very much..

the second type i met today was the dangerous kid. Especially with a balloon.. At the table I was studying at, the kid next to me kept reaching for my pencil case when his mom was not looking.. And he took his balloon and started waving it in my direction! what terror! what if he started to cry bcos of me not giving him what he wanted? (which i had really no idea)?!? yes thats the dangerous baby for you..

then i met simon, joshua, bryan andrewC and ash at Vivo City.. boy was that a city.. it had EVERYTHING! even skinny dipping for kids! omg! what horror! (actually there was a pool thing on the highest foor.. open air concept.. abt knee deep? and kids just jump in but just after their parents force them to take off their clothes else they'd be all wet)

anyway, went to watch the prestige.. what confusion! sheesh.. i only got it when the show ended.. only andrewC loves this kind of movies.

for dinner, we found that the city was tooo jammed packed.. so we took a bus down to my place to get sea food at pasir panjang food centre opposite my house.. boy was the food good and so much cheaper than if we ate at billy's..

ok heres the funny bitt.. they came over to my house and started playing with my flight simulator on my laptop.. we started a spot landing event where you're supposed to land at a certain spot on the runway.. hahhaah boy was hilarious..

oh yes the part to read! I took the car to send them back.. Just after dropping andrewC off at his house, I took a right turn and I hit the left curb cause the curb suddenly jumped out at me.. yea yea who am i kidding? i didnt turn enough la. hahahha.. it happened around here:

the side of the tire hit the curb so i guess it caused a tear in the tubeless tire.. after ten meters after the impact, the car started dropping and the turning became sloppy so we knew it was flat.. Luckily, it happened just outside a coffee shop where I met the third type of classic singaporean.. The knowledgeable uncle... He was having a smoking break behind the coffee shop and he saw us and waved to us to park here.. He even directed me how to park it.. hahhahaha like he was expecting me or something.. anyway, we went to the boot to retrieve the the spare tire.. boy was that heavy... i didnt know that there was a car jack in the car.. when we found it, it was secured to the inner side of the boot.. out came the uncle to save the day (i mean night) again.. he siad, "ai ya.. the car jack hor, must screw then will come out" so he screwed it. (yes there is a screw to secure it tight against the frame) anyway me bryan and ash took turns in cranking the jack.. wah say.. demn difficult man.. (pics out later.. bryan tay had a camara with him.. sigh.. he just had to bring one.. ahaha).. so off came the flat and on went the spare.. whew.. i thought i would have to spend the night lost and sccared.. so thanks to the coffee shop uncle and his car tire changing skills, we were saved and on our way again...

past bryan's house and finally dropped ash along ferrer road.. wow.. now thats what i call a freakin long day..

i was at school today to do my pro e and i finished them at abt 530 in the afternoon. but i dropped my tumb drive before i went back home and so i checked it again.. it didnt work!!!!!!!!! and i had two files of pro e which i had to pass up and they were gone! all gone!!!!!!! so i drove back home to test it on my lap top and it showed me this again!!! note the time -it was not the first time i tried it.. i was too upset to take a print screen then..

so i drove back to school and re did the two parts. woohoo! i finnished them before 730 pm! lucky chris was still there to help me out.. hiewwww..

so peeps, always ALWAYS backup your stuff and dont bloody drop the darn tumb drive!

side note: darn those pple for burning their stupid trees and causing this STUUUUUUUUPID haze!

nothing moved today... except for the big birds.. the skylarks were grounded! stranded on the ground becasue there was no demn horizon line in the horizon... imagine what one man with one match stick one thousand miles away can do to the entire region! haizzzzzzzzzz.. its too demn hazy...

anyway on a side note, i went to SuPerstar- The Pop Musical at NUS's UCC hall with poh, zhi, weiquan and joel (all classmates) and i met two other acsi classmates there! tao xing yuan and clement oh who btw knew more pple there than i did even though he's not from my school.. sheesh (for the record, his last name is oh and the "oh" wasn't an expression).. and tao being his great friendly self, greeted me in his usual way.. hahahaha... oh yes abt the musical, well i would have to say it was great! i only went because two of my classmates were part of it and that some of my other classmates were going too.. i didnt exactly expect much (sorry abt that) but at the end of it all, i thought it was first class. at the end of the day, i was left singing (in my head) to the catchy tunes as i walked back home from the main road. "best friends_ thats what we are, you're my best friend_ you understand, need my best friend_ no matter what happenes_ we're best friends_to the end!......."

In this highly streesed society, i'm supprised i can find happiness in this nutshell.. and maybe heres why: hahha.. at last its here! i got my driving licence. *bigggg grin*

after i stopped swiming in 2005 mid, i kinda became a bum (and a nerd) and i lost my gymming abilities. at last! i could bench 45 lbs per side again after so long.. and i tought i was never going to make it.. : P yay!

yesterday the honour roll came out (or at least thats when i first noticed it). first time i saw a name i knew : D and a few others i knew as well were on it : D.. in acsi i was happy not to be last in my class. in SP, its so much different and its kind of a nice change...

wait that means i have to study harder.. oh no! i feel stressed again.. >_<

Yesterday was just plain fun. We had a stay over at simon's place. just the same old bunch of josh ash andrewC bryan and TimTay.. joel and alex came but left earlier.. so sad ally couldn't make it.. Anyway after not meeting for like a kebazillion years, we had a really good laugh all night. Thanks Simon! and good luck in completing your FF on the PS2.

thats my new call sign. hahahahha... at syfc yesterday, we were playing on the flight sim and the instructor suddenly made 4 virtual planes take off and since they were far away, you could only see red and green lights in the distance. "silly-ly" i thought they were PAPI lights floating in the air. sigh.. so thats why i'm now called HALO as in halogen lights? anyway, the instructor cut my virtual engines and i had to make a mayday landing back on the runway.. unfortunately, the runway had planes on them so i landed on the taxy way instead and rolled over to the grass. what ideas man.. the simulator really gets you thinking...

RSAF open house 2006

yesterday and today i went to the rsaf open house! yea yea i know. you're thinking siao! go two days in a row for what?! yesterday i went with my sister and her boyfriend and then today i went with only estee because some other pple couldn't wake up. hint hint.. tsk tsk. anyway some pics to show the event:

Next was the aerial display! super cool. they had the four planes, 2 F16C and 2 F5S, parked in front of the grand stand. then they had the 'emergency'' siren to which the pilots and ground crew rushed to the planes and taxied for take off. it took less than seven minutes to get off the ground which is really fast.

They had the C130 demo a commando free fall.. you can see the commando in the pic below. oh btw its not just one commando but thats just one of them free falling in the pic. haha
they even had the red lions sky dive and land twenty meters infront of us.. Beats being at the national stadium on national day hands down.

they also had apaches and super pumas sneak up from the tree line at the background.. after which there were infantry men absail from the super pumas.

you can see the green guys if you look closely at the trees long enough..

there was two chinooks carrying their payloads like the cannon below.

finally they all came back in to land. think the air show was the best of all the activities.

oh they actually had joyrides in a aircraft of your choice but then its a lucky draw. haahhaahahhaa.. so unlucky. didnt win but it was fun non-the-less.

yesterday i was supposed to go to santosa with my classmates but syfc called saying that there was an extra slot so i went flying instead. but due to cross winds, the sortie was not counted cause not allowed to go solo due to weather. ah wells..
